Kirifuri Waterfall by Hokusai Art PrintThink of it as Hokusai with less reverence and better instincts. Same tall cascade, same tiny figures at the foot of it, but trimmed back so the deep blue water and warm brown rock actually breathe on a modern wall. Up on the wall, the room gets quieter. The eye drops down the falls and lands on the figures, and everything else in the room slows to match. It's the rare landscape that adds atmosphere without adding noise. Hang it tall and narrow

saturated or busy — bold florals

navy stripes — all moving at once

dining rooms and entryway walls — particularly above a sideboard

a lime on the counter

a console or a writing desk where you can stand back a bit

A retro racing bike sliced through soft pink

rattan and a ceramic vase or two

Painted off-white walls

teal grounds it

Hang it where you walk in — above a console in the hallway

brass fittings and one or two stoneware pieces in earthy tones

then the bright orange start doing damage
