Description

Crane and Blossom on Teal Canvas PrintFrom the doorway, the vertical reads clean. Up close, not polite. The crane holds the lower half of the wall while the blossom branch leans in from the top corner, and the deep teal behind them does most of the work. The room gets quieter and a little more grown up around it. Hang it in a hallway, a bedroom or a dining room somewhere people walk past and look properly. It wants a calm wall. Cream, plaster, off white, or a darker green if you're brave.

On canvas the brushwork sits proud of the wall and the colours read a touch softer

soft white bedding

It also holds its own above a small desk or dressing table

nursery or family kitchen — a wall at child eye-level above a low shelf

chalky off-white walls and stoneware in sandy tones

deep red velvet and a few linen napkins

this wants room to breathe

and the turquoise river underneath pulls the eye through

What not to do: don't crowd it with other busy illustrations

' said nobody standing in front of this rainbow arc

cream sky and silvery blue sea

so it reads bold without feeling cold
