Description

2006 Gevrey-Chambertin, Clos Saint-Jacques, 1er Cru, Domaine SylvieEsmonin, BurgundyA heavenly, heady bouquet enthrals the nose whilst supple, vigorous black fruit flavours dance across the palate. This may have a firm, tannic finish but there is so much fruit here that this will develop beautifully over a decade or more.

yet it has excellent depth of flavour as well

It is also much more accessibly priced

Interesting also how it differs from Petit Mouton

but the length shows an early mark of quality

with bright acids and a charming core of fruit

backward and rather surly compared to its peers
