Description

Festive Dinner, Matisse Inspired Canvas PrintPut bluntly, your dining room can carry more hot pink than it thinks. This is a Matisse inspired dinner party in loose brushwork: three figures around a candlelit table, a green vase of leaves, orange tumblers and a pink cloth that floods the whole scene. Hang it above a sideboard, a dining bench or a console and the room feels hosted rather than decorated. It does the heavy lifting in a warm white, soft pink or terracotta room, and it sits well with

and it suits a hallway that needs a touch of life

Eye level or just above a low piece of furniture is the sweet spot

It's mustard yellow with a point of view

pale wood and soft brass — anything with a hand-touched feel works

in a bedroom by the window

rattan stools and a bit of terracotta or brass

the mustard and warm peach blooms catch lamplight in the evening and stop the whole thing feeling cold

The room shifts the moment this print goes up — the window opens onto a hillside

on the wall behind a small dining table

Don't crowd it with bold graphic prints or heavy dark frames — keep neighbouring pieces light

kitchens and hallways that already lean light or pale-walled — somewhere it can breathe

Framed in oak or a slim black moulding
