Description

Berlin Pastel Streetscape Canvas PrintBack in the 1920s, this kind of Berlin street belonged to another kind of home Altbau townhouses with tall windows, caf awnings and bicycles propped on the kerb. Painted in loose, confident brushwork, it brings soft pink, sky blue, warm yellow and a flash of deep red into a room. Hang it where a wall feels a bit quiet above a sofa, sideboard or kitchen bench and the colour does the heavy lifting. It works hard above a low console in a hallway too,

an entryway with a painted console

on a dark plaster wall

the cream ground reads beautifully soft

early and quietly confident

One landscape per wall

linen and leather — materials that go with the warm earth tones already in the print

Put it up and the room loosens by a notch

and once it's on the wall the whole room feels a few degrees warmer

A woman in a coral grid sweater and wide-brimmed hat brings a sense of calm and introspection into your space

Pair with smoked oak or walnut

The serene depiction of birds perched among lush foliage evokes a sense of calm and tranquility

they soften the joke
