Rider on a Winged Rooster Art PrintThis isn't wall filler. It's deep blue with a point of view. A crowned rider on a winged rooster, painted in a folk tale style with soft pink, red roses and yellow stars the kind of piece that gives a room its own storyline. Hang it in a kids' room, nursery or a hallway that needs a lift. It works above a small chest of drawers, a painted bench or a reading corner. Pair it with painted wood, rattan, striped cottons and warm off white walls. Avoid

a sideboard or a bed all work

Skip it if your walls already carry busy florals or a high-contrast gallery wall — this one wants a little quiet around it

or above a coffee station where you want a quick lift of colour

It earns its keep in kitchens

Don't crowd it with other busy travel posters or bright neon prints — let this one carry the holiday note on its own

heavy gilt mirrors or other loud food prints will fight it

It also works above a small console in an entryway

where there's room to look the dog in the eye

It works with pale wood furniture

antique brass and stoneware in cream or sand

trees pressing in from behind

a double-bass player and a few friends gathered round
