Description

Bauhaus 1923 Concentric Circles Art PrintAfter the afternoon light shifts, the study suddenly has a pulse. The concentric circles pull the eye in and the room steadies around them. What changes is the focus. A blank wall stops being background and becomes the thing you notice when you walk in, without taking over the room. Hang it at eye level above a desk, sideboard or low bookshelf. It also holds a narrow wall on its own, between a doorway and a window. Pair with oak or walnut timber,

A quiet living room gets a focal point that's actually a focal point

shrimp and oysters has all the cheek of an old Dutch still life with none of the formality

Not because it's dark green

no soft watercolours next to it

while the red-orange and mustard fruit add just enough warmth to feel lived-in

with the gallery type pinning it down at the top and bottom

not a co-star to anything formal

It plays well with oak

leather bar stools and a stack of smoked-glass tumblers

Even the linen in here starts looking expensive next to mustard yellow

it reads warmer still

Don't crowd it with other London souvenirs — one strong landmark is the whole point
