Drifting Maple Leaves by Shin Bijutsukai Canvas PrintFor a living room full of curves, this autumn leaves study brings the check. Red, brown, cream and dusty purple maples sit against pale blue green water swirls on a soft off white ground, so the room gets a hit of seasonal colour without losing its quiet. Hang it above a low sideboard, a reading chair or a hallway console where it has space to breathe. It pairs well with pale oak and walnut, linen upholstery, stoneware in earth tones and warm paper

Don't crowd it with other busy travel posters or loud patterned wallpaper — it wants a bit of breathing room to do its job

It pairs well with darker walls

Skip it in a stark white minimalist room — the soft cream and olive want a bit of warmth and texture around them to do their work properly

and a soft off-white background — that's all the room needs to lift
