Description

Colourful New York Rowhouses Canvas PrintHang this where the warm afternoon light hits and the yellow sharpens. It's a friendly New York street scene in pink, peach, yellow and warm white, with two little taxis tucked in at the kerb. Put it on the wall and the room loosens up. The colour does the work, but the painterly finish keeps it from feeling loud more travel diary than tourist poster. Hangs best in a hallway, kitchen or family living room, above a console, sideboard or low bookcase.

This piece doesn't share walls well with other busy art

it warms a room the way a lamp does — the yellow lifts

the Lisbon flower market scene loses nostalgia and gains grit

and a real plant or two — anything living echoes the leaves and grounds the picture

Soft lamplight is its friend

dresser or reading chair

or framed in white or oak for a clean

size it up and the orange and deep red carry the whole wall

It brings colour and a little personality into a room without shouting

Hang it and a quiet room gets a clear focal point — somewhere the eye lands and stays

A jute rug underneath grounds the whole thing

Seen beside soft linen
