Hang it above a worktop, on a small wall between cabinets, in a breakfast nook, or in a pantry where you actually see it

or in a hallway people pass through every day

Portrait shape suits narrow walls and the space between two doors

Hang it and a quiet kitchen suddenly has a point of view: warmer

checked or terrazzo flooring

It's loose painterly tension in the right places

dark oak and a touch of antique brass

What not to do: don't drown it in other busy pattern

A trailing pothos or a small fern nearby looks right

The room feels lighter and a touch more playful — modern

It reads as cheerful without going twee
