Meditating Dog Serenity Art PrintLeave the feature wall blank if you like cautious rooms. This calm, slightly silly little scene a slender dog cross legged in a quiet meditation pose lifts the mood of a room without taking it over. The soft sage green backdrop reads as a gentle wash of colour, so it sits well in bedrooms, studies, nurseries and yoga corners. Hang it over a low bench, a writing desk, or beside a reading chair where you want a small smile each morning. Pair it with

terracotta pots and simple ceramics — anything with a soft

Think of it as Hockney with less reverence and better instincts

so light bounces off it instead of getting absorbed

walls feel warmer and lamplight has something to bounce off — cream sofas look richer

the warm brown of the bear softens it

or a reading chair in the living room

deep greens and dark wood tones all lift each other rather than competing

Hang it and the room shifts towards holiday

Leave the kids' bedroom wall blank if you like cautious rooms

the figs: it's a full Italian table without trying too hard

or on a feature wall in a hallway that needs a focal point

Stretched on a wooden frame with a soft matte canvas finish that suits the painterly brushwork
