Description

Maple by Hannah Borger Overbeck Canvas PrintSomewhere between Hannah Borger Overbeck and Arts and Crafts illustration, this maple branch refuses to behave. The leaves bend, the seed pods dangle, and the whole thing feels hand drawn rather than catalogued. Hang it where you want a quiet, botanical lift: above a desk, a slim console, or in a hallway that needs a softer note. It works against off white or pale plaster walls, and gets on well with linen, rattan, pale oak and a little brass. Skip it

painted in warm browns against a soft sage-cream background

Hang it and the room gets brighter without going loud

and slots straight into a calm nursery without making everything matchy

or on a bare wall in a kids' room that's outgrown nursery pastels

Skip glossy black furniture and high-contrast graphic art on the same wall — both will fight the soft watercolour edges

Don't crowd it with bold florals or strong graphic prints

linen and stoneware in cream and clay

a hallway you actually use

Keep it for the warm rust and oat tones

biscuit crumbs and a small dog underfoot

The red and cream stripes do most of the heavy lifting — they bring movement

Hang at eye level above a sideboard
