Deep Woods - Great Horned Owl 24 x 24A great horned owl stretches out low across a branch, in profile. The sky behind him warms toward sunset; dark teal foliage gathers above, ferns and grasses spread out below. I start with a graphite drawing on the wood, then build the painting through about thirty layers oils, washes, glazes, and metal leaf. 24" 24" original on wood panel with a 2. 25" gold leafed edge.
