Tomato Mosaic on Pink Canvas PrintFrom the doorway, the circular fruit reads clean. Up close, not polite. The surface breaks into hundreds of cracked tile shards, with deep red, soft pink and warm brown grout lines fighting for the light. Hung in a kitchen or dining nook, it injects colour into a room that usually plays it safe with white walls and pale wood. Works above a sideboard, breakfast bar or open shelving, where you can actually get close enough to see the texture. Pairs with

Don't crowd it with other framed scenes — let one open window do all the travelling

and warm bulbs in the evening

a low sideboard or at the end of a hallway you can see down

It suits warm walls — soft terracotta

a child's desk or a reading nook chair

so it likes a narrower stretch of wall

bouclé and a little brass

the warm background softens white walls

Skip the busy gallery wall and avoid leafy chintz nearby — the shape works hardest when it has space around it

One opinionated piece per wall

Rooms go quieter when bright yellow is this sure of itself

and a ginger cat with a glass of red wine delivers it without trying too hard
