Description

ST HELENA 1922-37 3d bright blue, variety, SG101/cSt Helena 1922 37 3d bright blue, lower left horizontal pair with plate number '1', showing variety 'Cleft rock' on R5 1, SG101 c. A very fine mint positional pair with original gum. Most importantly, the stamps are unmounted mint. Colour is wonderfully fresh and far above average for this stamp issue. From the December 1922 printing of only 1,989 sheets and particularly rare in this form with the variety present. This definitive issue first released

thanks to market dynamics including:

Dennis Hopper below and Jack Nicholson at the bottom
