Description

Serene Polka Dot Afternoon Canvas PrintFor a living room full of curves, this painterly portrait brings the check. A woman in a deep green polka dot dress sits with a white cat in her lap, against a soft coral chair. Hung up, the room slows down. The coral warms a cool wall, the dark green grounds it, and the white cat catches the light without shouting. It works best above a low sideboard, a reading chair or a bed somewhere you sit rather than pass through. Eye level is fine; slightly

so it slots into pale rooms without fighting them

There's a reason illustrators kept returning to Kew's glasshouses

It's a kiwi slice fused with a gold disco ball — silly

or the head of a bed on an off-white or chalky plaster wall

soft pink bedding and small woven baskets

busy patterns or another statement print — let this one do the talking

Put it on the wall and the room reads more like a glasshouse — calmer

a console or a sideboard at eye level

Like a brushstroke of calm

The canvas softens the painterly edges nicely

more feeling than anatomy

Avoid hanging it next to anything heavily patterned or another bright primary
