Description

2021 Aldeia, Case of 6Produced in Portalegre to the north east of the Alentejo on the granite foothills of the So Mamede mountains, where cooler temperatures, along with many old vines, gives complexity and freshness. "Mid bluish crimson with a soft pinky purple rim. Inviting aroma that seems to show a touch of reduction at first (in a nice way), peppery and almost charry though there is no oak influence here, giving the dark fruit a savoury quality. Super fine tannins,

A selection of wines chosen by Howards Folly

" Matthew Jukes

zesty aromas of grapefruit peel

Made from a field blend that includes the Arinto grape among other unnamed ancient varieties

Moreish and just a little bit chewy on the finish

"It is sensational with amazing brightness and lightness

peppery too

On the palate it is fresh and invigorating

From the folks who brought this “Howard’s Folly” adventure with one of Portugal’s old oxidative dessert wine styles and the “namesake” and business visionary
