Description

Woman Seated Under the Willows by Monet Canvas PrintBuy a landscape for the story. Keep it for the soft green. A faithful reproduction of Monet's 1880 painting, this is the kind of picture that quietly changes the temperature of a room. The colours are dusty and sun bleached pale green, oat, hints of lavender and the brushwork is loose enough to look different at different times of day. Hang it where the eye lands often: above a bed, behind a writing desk, or on the long wall of a hallway. It works

dark palms and a deep blue Mediterranean bay

eyes closed

or a soft greige

and a single brass lamp — the kind of room that already takes itself a bit seriously

Best ordered framed in oak for a clean

marigold borders and bougainvillea

Hang it and a quiet room gets a clear focal point without going festive

painted loose and warm

an oak vanity

and suddenly the room has a centre of gravity it didn't have before

velvet in pink or burnt orange

the matte surface keeps the type crisp and glare-free
