Description

Apple FieldAn abandoned apple orchard beckoned me from the road as I was driving one late afternoon. The light in the background is from the mountain silhouetting the tree. I loved the greens, olives and yellowish oranges in the scene, as well as the earthtones.

I like the airiness of the image

so I went out and bought these gorgeous sunflowers

Sugar Arch

A photograph of the exhilarating apple trees in bloom in early spring in the Berkshires

yellow and pink are offset by a lavendar- mauve background and seem to burst out of the picture frame

The print was from an original watercolor I painted from a photograph I took of an Isadora Duncan style dance

Mother's Day

The image is an unusual blend of photography and watercolor: I first painted these lilies

Inspiration: this was based on a photograph of a neighbor's tree which turns a vibrant goldish yellow each fall

I painted right onto the page with no drawing

I remember being interrupted by some chickens walking past me
