Description

Decadent Drinks NAS 1972 50YO Single Cask Blended Grain Scotch Whisky 700ml (ABV 50%)This 50 year old vatted grain whisky is the 8th bottling in the Notable Age Statements series. Distilled in 1972, aged for 50 years in a refill barrel and bottled at natural cask strength. This has all the hallmarks of a great aged grain whisky, lots of coconut, subtle wood spice, citrus fruit notes and complex flavours of fruit and herbal teas. All presented at a perfect natural strength that balances finesse with power.

The higher rye content contributes warming spice notes on the nose and palate

Hints of black pepper and roasted green pepper add spice to the slight smokiness on a smooth and long finish

Orange - zesty citrus with an almost tart marmalade aftertaste

Palate - Stem ginger and sultana

matured in first-fill sherry and bourbon casks

and sweet Tasmanian apples dipped in toffee

and is perfect for making a gin and tonic or Negroni

Sturt Desert rose

Pepperberry

56 proof is the optimal match in the strength-sweet-bitter cocktail triangle
