Description

Closerie Saint Roc Vin de France Rouge 'Les Pins' 2020Comprised of 50% each Cabernet Franc and Merlot planted in a 1. 3 hectare parcel of silt, clay, and a touch of sand, Les Pins offers soaring aromas of dusty strawberries, smoky graphite, and black pepper, with a palate simultaneously gentle and commanding. There is a seamless harmony of acid, fruit, and tannin, with an overall impression of finesse and silkiness. Fermented spontaneously in cement during a two week maceration, it spends 18 months aging

115 g/L residual sugar

boisterous fruit combines seamlessly with a soaring acidity ever so slightly treble-boosted by immaculately tasteful volatility

$195/billed monthly

possessed of a certain “x-factor” that sets it apart from its brethren—something akin to charisma in humans

and blended with Lambrusco di Sorbara and the autochthonous white grape Pignoletto in varying ratios depending on the year

this wine offers aromas of red fruits

The grapes are left to raisin in the open air until the January following harvest

never being anything but excellent for the forty-plus years we have been purchasing it

This is a very special cuvée sourced from a single vineyard situated in the most elite section of the domaine

A minimal 25 mg/l dose of sulfur is applied only after malolactic fermentation

Our current bottling blends 70% from the 2021 harvest with 30% from the 2020 harvest

A wine created from truly profound terroir often proves extra-resistant to description
