Description

Jerome Chezeaux Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Rue de Chaux' 2022Located almost dead center in the appellation, Rue de Chaux is perhaps the most quintessentially Nuits Saint Georges among Chezeauxs premier crus. Jerome owns a mere 0. 29 hectares in this steep, topsoil deficient vineyard, and his ever elegant touch yields a wine of both grace and power. Darkly fruited, dense, and slightly brooding, it also offers an enchanting savory spicy perfume.

9 hectares worth of a local obscurity called Malvasia de Sitges—a variety of unknown origin that was nearly decimated by phylloxera in the late 19th century

An earthy but vibrant red with the classic faded rose color of this intriguing grape

The old vines give a formidable density to the wine with wild berry fruit

The glamorous highly touristic island of Capri

white and sparkling wines from the RWM portfolio in this dynamic subscription offering endless discoveries

All depends on the level of ripeness at time of harvest

and it was disgorged after nearly five years on the lees with a dosage of 6

This is an assertive wine with strong scents and flavors that tend to the “sous bois” and leather/animal

slightly less than one hectare planted entirely to the Xarel·lo grape in 1940

less elegant than its companion but it is more powerful and broad-shouldered

it is a wine that not only ages gracefully but almost requires a touch of patience

yet there is more finesse and purity
