Description

2018 Chateau La Fleur de Bouard Lalande de Pomerol [JD94][JS93][V93][WS91]Producer: Chateau La Fleur de Bouard Region: Lalande de Pomerol, Bordeaux, France Blend: 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon Year: 2018 Jeb Dunnuck, 94 Points "Always one of the gems in a vintage, the 2018 Chteau La Fleur De Board is a no brainer purchase and has a ripe, medium to full bodied, sexy style that carries lots of sweet cassis, spicy oak, flowers, and scorched earth like aromas and flavors. With plenty of fruit, notable

lightly cooked apples and Asian pears

while the portion of Cabernet harvested from Pope Valley adds complex aromas and a balanced mid-palate

and using 8 times more Irish Whiskey than the market standard

brighter and more fine-grained

and I’d unquestionably put the domaine up with the crème de la crème of the appellation today

Violets and earth

"Caymus has a signature style that is dark in color

more lingering and gripping than I expected from the first taste

and I can vouch from personal experience that the wines age extremely well

"This grand classed growth has produced a richly structured wine that is balanced by ripe black fruits

this remains very sleek and racy with quite daring mineral acidity at the long
